Berlin 10 March, 2017 — Three German tourism ventures committed to environmental, social and cultural preservation have been conferred “Thailand Green Excellence Awards” at a ceremony presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana at the Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) 2017, Berlin, on Thursday, 9 March, 2017.
The Thailand Green Excellence Awards are designed to reward the commitment and dedication of tour operators as well as travel agents and travel bloggers in Germany who support ecotourism in Thailand.
This is the sixth consecutive year the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organised these awards.
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of TAT said “Germany has been at the forefront of campaigns to protect and preserve the natural and cultural resources that comprise the bedrock of travel and tourism. Many German travel agents and media are working closely with the growing number of ecotourism ventures in Thailand, and we are happy to recognise their efforts.”
“We will also retain a strong focus on catering to the continuing growing trend for green tourism, a holiday that compliments its environment and the local communities. From quiet treks in the jungles to soft adventure like zip lining and rock climbing, Thailand has outdoor activities to suit any preference.”
