Bangkok, 29 April, 2015 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is organising the T-POP Festival 2015: Thailand Music Festival from 22-23 May, 2015, at Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Puen Palace), Royal Thai Army Camp, Phetchaburi, with the objective of boosting tourism in May as well as attracting more international tourists, especially from Asian countries.
Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Acting Governor and Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas said, “The Thailand Music Festival is one of the 12 unique events listed under TAT’s 2015 Discover Thainess tourism campaign. Thainess can be found in many of Thailand’s annual festivals, but we have also created new events to enhance the awareness of the Thai way of happiness, and this T-POP Festival 2015 fits perfectly in our calendar of unique events to experience “Thainess” because many Thai pop stars have become popular internationally, especially in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.”
The T-POP Festival 2015: Thailand Music Festival is also organised to commemorate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 88th Birthday Anniversary on 5 December, 2015, with an exquisite tunnel in honour of his life and his commitment to Thailand. Upon entering the event’s grounds visitors will have the chance to walk through this wonderful tunnel and capture the moments before reaching the three event zones.
The T-POP Festival zone will feature music concerts and performances by leading Thai pop stars. Leading the chart are Barry Nadech Kugimiya, Mario Maurer, Mark Prin Suparat, Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak, Son Yuke Songpaisan, O Anuchyd Sapanphong and Kao Jirayu Laongmanee. Joining the list are famous Thai pop stars from GMM Grammy, including Katreeya English, China Dolls (Bell and Hwa Hwa), Gun Napat Injaieua, Noona Nuengthida Sophon, Tono Phakin Khamwilaisak, Namcha Chiranat Yusanon, Lula Kanyarat Tiyapornchai, and two Thai rock bands – Potato and Paradox.
Apart from the concert, the Photo Station zone will feature creative mock-ups of tourist attractions and places of interest in Phetchaburi and nearby provinces, including Phra Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Puen Palace), Cha-am Beach, and the Hua Hin Railway Station. Visitors will get a chance to win a TAT Nong Sukjai mascot doll when they shoot and share their selfies on the event’s facebook page – TPOPFEST2015.
Mr. Noppadon Pakprot, TAT’s Executive Director – Events Department said, “To create awareness and entice interest, TAT is promoting the event through our offices in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. In addition, TAT and Thai Air Asia are jointly promoting the event by offering the first 100 travellers booking the airline’s air ticket to join the concert the chance to attend the meet-and-greet event with Thai pop stars.
Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak said, “I am proud to have the opportunity to help promote Thailand and be a part in promoting the 2015 Discover Thainess through T-POP Festival. I look forward to welcome all Thai fans to join us in being a good host and sharing the Thai way of happiness to Thai pop stars’ fans from all over Asia. I also look forward to entertain all my Thai and international fans at the festival at Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Puen Palace), Royal Thai Army Camp, on 22 and 23 May, 2015.”
Last but not least, the Market Place zone will highlight favourite Thai food from leading hotels and restaurants in the area as well as famous local delicacies; such as, boat noodles, Thai-style coffee, egg roll, and herbal drinks, as well as a variety of snack and souvenirs unique to Phetchaburi.

This two-day event is to be filled with fun and wonderful entertainment from leading Thai pop stars as well as a number of local delicacies for which Phetchaburi is famous.
