Bangkok, 4 September, 2015 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s reality contest, the Thailand Extreme Makeover, recently returned for its second year and is now underway with the three finalists currently undergoing beauty procedures performed by some of Thailand’s best known surgeons and beauticians. The contest is aimed at promoting the kingdom as an international centre for medical tourism.
The contest is open to men and women between 20 and 45 years of age, and the three finalists get the chance to win a cash prize as well as an all-over surgical beauty transformation. They will also be treated to an all-expenses-paid trip to some of Thailand’s best resorts.
Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas) said, “In its first year, the Thailand Extreme Makeover was a huge success and brought Thailand’s world-class cosmetic treatments and surgical procedures international acclaim. The contest highlights the skills of our doctors and beauticians in transforming people’s looks and lives. It is also a showcase for some of the beautiful destinations people can enjoy after coming here for treatments or recuperating.”
Applicants applied from 1 March – 31 May, 2015, and have now been narrowed down to three finalists – Ms. Chen Yuhan (30) from China, Mrs. Novi Meyliani (37) from Indonesia, and Ms. Darleen Cubas (34) from the USA who all received round-trip flights to Thailand to start their all-over surgical beauty transformation from 15 August – 5 September, 2015.
All three finalists have voiced their confidence and optimism that the Thailand Extreme Makeover would give them a lifetime beauty transformation as well as the chance to experience first-hand the latest technologies in cosmetic treatments and surgical procedures, including hyperbaric, TR Lift, holistic therapies, and spa treatments, provided by some of Thailand’s top surgical and aesthetics providers in Thailand, such as, Yanhee Hospital, Dr. Orawan Holistic Anti-Aging Institute, and Slim Up Center.
The progress of the three finalists as they undergo treatments can be followed on www.tourismthailand.org/thailandmedtourism and www.thatlandextrememakeover.com where daily videos are uploaded and members of the public can make their votes.
The winner will receive US$5,000 in cash prize plus three-day/two-night accommodation for two and a spa treatment worth 200,400 Baht from the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa, Taling Ngam, Ko Samui. Second and third prize winners will get resort stays and spa treatments at the Twin Lotus Ko Lanta, Krabi and Nishaville Resort and Spa, Prachuap Khiri Khan, respectively.
Members of the public can vote until 30 September and the final winner will be announced on 7 October, 2015. Voters also get to win prizes worth 600,000 Baht in total, including resort stays and makeovers packages from, beauty centres and resorts such as, Khongkwan Clinic, Civilai Hill Khao Yai, Medisci Anti-Aging Center, Radiant Skin Clinic, Kristie France, Romrawin Clinic, Medivisage, Bangkok Dermatology Center, Cool Spa Phuket Luxury Spa, and Meko Clinic.

People come here for a range of good quality and affordable medical treatments, and Thailand is now considered to be the medical hub of Asia.”
The website www.tourismthailand.org/thailandmedtourism has purposely been set up to create awareness of Thailand as the world’s top medical tourism destination and the readiness of Thai cosmetic providers in providing both health and beauty therapy as well as wellness and spa.
