Bangkok, 4 February, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has appointed Ms. Vani Kapoor as Thailand golf ambassador in India, as part of the ongoing ‘golf celebrity marketing’ efforts to promote Thailand as the paradise for golfers from around the world.
Dr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of TAT said, “Ms. Vani Kapoor is currently India’s number 1 lady golfer, making her the perfect golf ambassador in India for Thailand, which is increasingly recognised as a golfing paradise and a favourite destination for women travellers. Ms. Vani will be an iconic for both male and female golfers in India to Thailand.”
Thailand is renowned as Asia’s most popular golfing destination with a remarkable value for golfers, who can come to enjoy the luxury of golf at world class courses at magnificent locations, receive five star services from friendly caddies, and stay in comfortable accommodation at affordable prices. The hospitality of the caddies coupled with their skills and familiarity with the courses provide golfers with services that exceed expectations.
Ms. Vani at the age of 22, turned professional golfer in 2012 and her current world ranking is 767. She has represented India in many domestic and international golf tournaments, and has won 17 titles till now which is the most by any female player on the Indian tour. She received the Order of Merit Winner & Player of the Year (WGAI) in 2014 making her Number 1 in the WGAI ranking.
Having recently played golf in Thailand, Ms. Vani said, “It is my great honour to be Thailand Golf Ambassador, I would like to thanks the Tourism Authority of Thailand for giving me this great opportunity.”
