London, 8 November, 2017 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Turkish Airlines recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tourism cooperation aimed at promoting Thailand through Turkish Airlines’ marketing activities and route network.
The MOU was signed on 7 November, 2017, at the World Travel Market (WTM), between Mr. Tuncay Eminoglu, Turkish Airlines Vice-President, Sales for Asia and Far East Regions, and Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas.
The MOU signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, as well as representatives from Turkish Airlines and distinguished guests.
Valid for a period of one year, the MOU means that TAT and Turkish Airlines will collaborate and create joint promotional activities to specifically focus on sport tourism, wedding and honeymoon, and gastronomy to boost the number of travellers to Thailand via Turkish Airlines’ route network.
Turkish Airlines has been flying between Istanbul and Bangkok since 1989 and now operates 14 flights per week. On 17 July, this year, the airline launched a direct Istanbul-Phuket route with four flights per week.
