Bangkok, 16 February, 2018 – AirAsia has launched a new daily direct flight between Udon Thani and Chiang Mai from 15 February, and increased its daily frequency on the Udon Thani – Bangkok route from four to five flights, bringing its service to the Thai Northeastern city to nine flights per day.
The airline is already operating several daily direct flights connecting Udon Thani with other Thai cities, including from Bangkok (Don Mueang) (four to five flights), from Pattaya (U-Tapao) (two flights), and from Phuket (one flight).
Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Director of Commercial for Thai AirAsia, said that the Udon Thani-Chiang Mai daily direct flight is an affirmation of the airline’s policy of offering more and more regional connections in support of the nation’s tourism and transport sectors.
He added that Udon Thani is one Thailand’s Northeastern Region’s strategic provinces for growth where AirAsia sees opportunities for expansion in both tourism and investment.
“The Udon Thani-Chiang Mai route connects the northeast to the north and will be served by a 180-seat Airbus A320, a larger plane that offers greater comfort alongside AirAsia’s on-time service.”
