Bangkok, 29 July, 2021 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to report that the 15 finalists for the Experience Mekong Showcases 2021 have been selected, and that public voting is now open to choose the six winners, who will be announced at the virtual Destination Mekong Summit later this year.
Determined by voting, the field of finalists is made up of three Experience Mekong Collection members from each of the five Mekong member countries of Cambodia, China (Yunnan and Guangzhou), Lao PDR., Thailand, and Vietnam. This year, finalists from Myanmar will be judged differently by an industry panel made up of relevant Mekong Tourism Advisory Group (MeTAG) members.

The Experience Mekong Collection (EMC) was established four years ago to recognise and encourage sustainable and responsible tourism development in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). To become a member, small travel businesses must make a significant social impact on the community, provide an authentic local experience positioning the GMS as a responsible, inclusive and experiential tourism destination, and have an innovative concept and sustainable business model.
