Bangkok, 18 April, 2022 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to report that Thailand is fielding a prominent presence at the International Horticultural Expo (EXPO 2022 Floriade Almere), which is now on in Almere in the Netherlands from 14 April through until 9 October, this year.
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “Thailand’s participation at the EXPO 2022 Floriade Almere is continuing a strong worldwide showing for the kingdom, as it follows on from the successful presence at the recently-concluded World Expo in Dubai where 2.3 million visitors experienced the Thai pavilion, making it one of the top five pavilions at the event. It is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the 418th anniversary this year of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Netherlands.”
The EXPO 2022 Floriade Almere is the seventh edition of the International Horticultural Expo, an A1 level expo scheduled every 10 years, and Thailand is among the 50 countries and TAT is one of the 60 organisations taking part.
The Thailand pavilion at the EXPO 2022 Floriade Almere features three zones: Zone 1 Welcome to Thailand – with information on Thailand’s tourism and agro tourism, the BCG Model: Bangkok Green City, and the Thai-Netherlands relations; Zone 2 Future Products – with information on Thai herbs and orchids, and future food, and Zone 3 Showroom – with information on future products.
The Thailand pavilion’s theme was inspired by the Thai people’s connection with water, including their lifestyles, traditions, beliefs, and food.
The main concept of the Expo itself is Growing Green Cities and delivering environmentally friendly technologies and innovations for the cities of the future. As such, for Thailand, it is a chance to showcase the kingdom’s progress in food innovations and agricultural products, sustainable development of food production processes, and sustainable management guidelines, including theways of life and cultural traditions.
