TAT to host “Amazing Music Festival: Over The Horizon” in Pattaya

The event from 30 August to 1 September 2024, featuring internationally known artists, heralds a series of arts and music events ahead of Thailand’s Music Festival Year 2025

Bangkok, 15 August 2024 – Thailand’s strategy to promote a ‘music festival year’ in 2025 is taking a step forward with the “Amazing Music Festival: Over the Horizon” to be held in Pattaya at the end of this month.

Dr. Phonpoom Vipattipumiprates, Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports, said “The event will be a perfect prelude to the preparations for the music festival year 2025, which symbolises our invitation to tourists to come to enjoy grand celebrations of music, art, and culture in Thailand. The strategy aligns with the government’s ‘Ignite Thailand’s Tourism’ policy to boost tourism through big events.”

The “Amazing Music Festival: Over the Horizon” is scheduled from Friday, 30 August to Sunday, 1 September 2024 at Central Pattaya Beach, Chon Buri.

The festival will feature Thai artists and singers, showcasing a mix of genres from Popular Music to R&B and Hip Hop. The official lineup will be headlined by Daou Pittaya, Nene Pornnappan, and YinWar, all popularly known in China, along with famous artists from Thailand, including The Toys, Atom, No One Else, Season Five, Mos & Bank, TwoPee, Violette Wautier, bamm, and MEAN.

The event is one of the six big events that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has planned for every month for the rest of this year. It added to special events and festivals held over the last month in regional destinations across the country.

Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, TAT Deputy Governor of Tourism Products and Business, said “TAT has been hosting many special events and festivals in key and secondary cities to ignite 2024 as a great year of tourism for Thailand. We have identified music festivals as an important part of our marketing strategy to promote year-round tourism in Thailand.”

TAT’s music festivals are designed to cater to quality tourists interested in music, food, art, sport, and culture, representing parts of Thailand’s soft power.

This reflects the government’s “five must do in Thailand” approach, which comprises Must Taste – Thai food, Must Try – Muay Thai, Must Buy – Thai fashion and local products, Must Seek – new destinations and new travel experiences, and Must See – Thai festivals.

Pattaya, Chon Buri has been selected as the venue for the “Amazing Music Festival: Over the Horizon” given its well-established popularity as a top destination with a wide range of tourist facilities and activities.

The beach resort city is also considered a destination that tourists worldwide want to visit at least once, as it offers one of the most beautiful skylines in the world.

Most recently, according to the 2024 Golden Beach Awards, Pattaya was placed 12th on the list of 100 Best Beaches in the World.
