TAT Marks a Milestone with the Release of The MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2025

Thailand’s culinary scene shines with historic first for Three MICHELIN Stars, new entries, and sustainability recognition

Bangkok, 29 November 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is delighted to announce the release of The MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2025, the 8th since the Guide’s inception in Thailand. This year’s edition expands into Chon Buri, continuing the journey of showcasing the kingdom’s gastronomic richness.

TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, said, “The partnership between TAT and The MICHELIN Guide has consistently promoted Thailand as a global gastronomic hub. This collaboration will play a key role in TAT’s marketing efforts, particularly with the launch of the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025’ campaign, which highlights Thailand’s ‘Thai Charms’ and the ‘5 Must Do in Thailand’. The Guide’s expansion into new regions like Chon Buri supports our ‘Must Seek New Cities’ concept, inviting global travellers to explore the diversity of local experiences.”

This year’s edition showcases 462 of Thailand’s finest dining establishments, with the following key highlights:

  • 1 Three MICHELIN Star: Sorn, promoted from Two MICHELIN Stars, becomes Thailand’s first restaurant to earn this honour.
  • 7 Two MICHELIN Stars: Côte by Mauro Colagreco, promoted from One MICHELIN Star, joins Baan Tepa, Chef’s Table, Gaa, Mezzaluna, R-Haan, and Sühring.
  • 28 One MICHELIN Stars: This includes five new entries – AKKEE, AVANT, GOAT, and Aulis – as well as Coda, promoted from the MICHELIN Selected category.
  • 4 MICHELIN Green Stars: Recognising restaurants committed to sustainability, including Baan Tepa, which joins PRU, Haoma, and Jampa.
  • 156 Bib Gourmand: With 20 new entries.
  • 270 MICHELIN Selected: Featuring 44 new entries.

Chon Buri makes its debut in this 2025 edition with 20 entries, including 5 Bib Gourmand and 15 MICHELIN Selected establishments.

This milestone underscores the richness and diversity of Thai cuisine while highlighting the innovation and passion of Thailand’s chefs. The MICHELIN Guide continues to celebrate the vibrant culinary scene in Thailand, which remains a key destination for food lovers from around the world.”

The 2025 edition also honours four MICHELIN Guide Special Awards:

  • 2025 MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award: Sittikorn (Ou) Chantop of AKKEE
  • 2025 MICHELIN Guide Opening of the Year Award: Dimitrios Moudios of Ōre
  • 2025 MICHELIN Guide Service Award: Yupa (Ying) Sukkasem of Baan Tepa
  • 2025 MICHELIN Guide Sommelier Award: Thansith Wasinonth of Côte by Mauro Colagreco

Ms. Thapanee concluded, “In 2025, TAT aims for a 7.5% increase in tourism revenue, targeting 39 million international visitors. As TAT continues to promote Thailand as a gastronomic tourism destination, The MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2025 strengthens the country’s culinary reputation and attracts food lovers globally.”

With its expanding coverage, The MICHELIN Guide Thailand now includes Bangkok (since 2018), Phuket and Phang Nga (since 2019), Chiang Mai (since 2020), Ayutthaya (since 2022), Isan (Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani) (since 2023), Ko Samui and Mainland Surat Thani (since 2024), and Chon Buri (new in 2025). In addition to the culinary achievements, in September this year, TAT celebrated the first-ever MICHELIN Keys Thailand awards, recognising 58 hotels for their exceptional service and quality.
