Thailand welcomed 22 millionth tourist as Thailand’s Luckiest Visitor

Bangkok, 30 September, 2015 – The Thai tourism industry welcomed its 22 millionth visitor this year. The activity is being organised as part of a campaign to welcome every millionth visitor to Thailand. An elaborate traditional welcome was prepared by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd., the Immigration Bureau, the Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., and True Corporation Public Co., Ltd.

The 22 millionth Thailand‘s Luckiest Visitor is Ms. Jin Haiyu from Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, who arrived at Suvarnbhumi Airport today with China Southern Airlines, flight CZ6083 from Shenzhen.

Ms. Jin was pleasantly surprised to receive two economy-class return tickets from Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd., from her airport of origin back to Thailand, valid for one year, and a voucher for top-end accommodation for five nights.

In addition, she received a mobile phone with 3G sim-card and seven-day internet usage from True Corporation Public Co., Ltd. for use on the trip.

The activity is designed to support the “2015 Discover Thainess” umbrella campaign, which aims to highlight the endless charm of Thailand, the diversity of destinations, full flavours of Thai cuisine, fascinating uniqueness of the traditions and culture, as well as the friendliness of its people.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “On behalf of the Thai travel and tourism industry, we would like to thank all international tourists visiting Thailand with this reward for their contribution. Rewarding the millionth visitor is just a small way of showing our thanks and letting the world know that we value all our guests.

“We would also like them to recommend Thailand to their friends and families, relatives and colleagues. Thailand is and continues to be a wonderfully diverse tourism destination with great beaches, food, spas, hotels, nature, sports, and smiles. We are always ready to welcome many more visitors, both first-time and repeaters, to enjoy and fulfill every idea of your holiday in Thailand.”
