Bangkok, 25 January, 2016 – The Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna (RSOV) has scheduled to perform two concerts at the 2,000-seat Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University Salaya campus, in Greater Bangkok on 9 and 10 February, this year, as part of its global tours in Bangkok, Taipei and Tokyo.
Conducting the orchestra is Maestro Cornelius Meister who took over as RSOV’s Principal conductor and Artistic Director in 2010 and the orchestra is well known for its exceptional and bold programming.
RSOV’s first evening in Bangkok will feature Austrian-Romanian pianist Maria Radutu, winner of Gold medal at Romania National Olympics followed by the Benjamin Award for the Best and youngest candidate.
The second night will feature Thai cellist, Tapalin Charoensook for Camille Saint-Saëns: Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33. Currently a full-time faculty in String and Chamber Music Department at College of Music, Mahidol University, Tapalin has won numerous national and international awards including Settrade Thai Youth Musician Competition, The King’s Award, The Conrad Young Musician Award of Thailand Competition 2007 and also the International Youth Chamber Music Competition (IYCC) in Interlaken Switzerland.
The concert will take place at 19.00 hrs onwards on both days.
