Bangkok, 24 April, 2017 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that the second TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign will open for entries from 15 May, 2017.
This year, the campaign, called ‘Uniquely Local, Uniquely Thai’ is aimed at encouraging bloggers to tell the world about some of the unique local Thai experiences found in Thailand and to get the chance to win an exclusive trip to explore more of the kingdom.
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “The TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign was launched with great success last year with bloggers from all over the world sharing their stories and images of Thailand. This year, the Campaign will support TAT’s 2017 strategy to promote the charms, attractions and Thainess of the kingdom and its people by telling the world about some of the experiences that are unique and can only be enjoyed in Thailand.”
The TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign 2017 will comprise two components: a blog and a video. Interested bloggers can now start preparing a blog of up to 350 words and up to five pictures or a video blog of between 30 and 90 seconds that tells their Uniquely Local, Uniquely Thai tales.
The TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign 2017 will be eligible for entrants who must have a regularly-updated presence on social media channels and a substantial number of regular followers. This can include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, etc. or a personal blog that covers travel, food or culture topics. Entrants can begin to upload one blog and one video each to the TAT Newsroom’s website, from 15 May, 2017. The submission will close on 15 June, 2017.
This year, six entrants will be selected by both a panel of judges and number of public votes. These include four exceptional online blogs and videos chosen by a judging panel and two with the most votes. Successful entrants will receive a return air ticket and an all-expenses-paid 5D/4N trip in Thailand, which will take place from 21-25 July, 2017.
To inspire the world’s writers, photographers and video-makers, the TAT Newsroom has launched a new Blogger Stories section that features the work of food, culture and travel bloggers who are sharing their travel experiences in Thailand. These include some stories by the winners of the 2016 blogger campaign on their winning trip to Bangkok, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
