Bangkok, 29 September, 2017 –The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently introduced a seven-day/six-night amazing Thailand local experience itinerary that offers numerous pampering opportunities and daily lifestyle interactions with communities near Bangkok.
Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications said, “This amazing Thailand local experience trip, which entails activities in Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Nakhon Pathom, is just an example of the many health and wellness tourism options available throughout Thailand.
“We want tourists from around the world to know that beyond the big cities, temples and beaches, they can also discover many unique local experiences that set Thailand apart from all other countries.”
Thailand is blessed with a wealth of health and wellness tourism options in destinations across the kingdom. So, TAT introduced its amazing Thailand local experience, with a focus on health and wellness options in Bangkok and nearby destinations, through a media familiarisation trip from Europe on 24 to 30 September.
On the first and second day in Bangkok, media participants enjoyed Thai spa treatments and a glimpse into the Thai gastronomic scene at ‘Taste it all 2017@Ratchaprasong: The Royal Delights – Pheasant Festival’ which runs until 31 October.
The second part of the amazing Thailand local experience journey – day three to five – highlighted the unique local lifestyles of various communities in Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Nakhon Pathom. These included the Mae Klong Railway Market (Talat Rom Hup), Tha Kha Floating Market and the 140-year-old Thana Market plus two nights in traditional Thai houses in Amphawa and Sampran districts.
The itinerary also had a traditional Thai massage session and an organic farm tour with a picnic lunch. Traditional Thai activities, including bamboo dancing and Muay Thai lessons, umbrella painting, garland making and rice farming, were also available.
The final part of the amazing Thailand local experience trip finished in Bangkok with more Thai spa treatments and organic meals. There was also a walking tour of the historic Bang Rak Food Tasting and Culture Tour plus the local community of Ban Bu.
The last evening in Bangkok was at one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, which included a record nine establishments in the influential list’s 2017 edition.
Mr. Chattan said, “This amazing Thailand local experience, with a focus on health and wellness options in Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Samut h and Nakhon Pathom, is just a selection of the choices that tourists can choose to maximise their time in Thailand. We hope this will inspire more tourists to visit the kingdom and discover the many unique Thai local experiences.”
