For 14 consecutive years, the Khon Kaen International Marathon is one of the annual sporting events that draws marathon runners to this Northeastern province of Thailand. Last year, the event broke its records with more than 36,000 marathon runners joining the race and its organiser is expecting the 2018 edition will repeat the same success.
The 15th Khon Kaen International Marathon in 2018 will feature running race in four categories: full 42km marathon, 21km half marathon, 11.5km mini marathon, and 4.5 km fun run. The courses starts from the Golden Jubilee Convention Hall in Khon Kaen University, and the route will take runners pass cultural attractions and multiple local landmarks, such as, Kaen Nakorn Lake, Sri Nuan Temple, Khon Kaen National Museum, and the stunning Wat Nong Wang temple.
Besides these landmark attractions, participating runners will get even more inspired by the cheerful local audiences who will be cheering all runners with colorful costumes and exciting music and songs.
The first five men and first five women in overall and in each age group will receive trophies and cash prizes. All runners in four marathon categories, who finish the course within the specified time and the first 10,000 racers in walk and fun run will receive a finisher’s medal.
