Announcement of winners in the second TAT Newsroom “Blogger Thailand” competition

Bangkok, 1 July 2019 – The winners have been chosen in the second TAT Newsroom “Blogger Thailand” competition for 2019, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce the lucky names (see official announcement here: https://tatnews.org/bloggerthailand/winners2019secondary).

Out of a possible total of 50 points as per the competition’s published criteria, the six winners are:

* “Some Guy in a “Sum Gai” Spa” by Mike Thailandee of the blog “Thailandee” at 47 points.

* “Thailand off the Beaten Track: Ngao Waterfall National Park” by Jojo Vito of the blog “The Happy Trip” at 47 points.

* “The Hidden Gems of Thailand” by Jackapan Witchuprapaporn of the blog “Deer is Travelling” at 47 points.

* “Ko Phayam – A Peaceful Island Retreat!” by Paul Moore of the blog “Chow Traveller” at 47 points.

* “Travelling to Nan Province Where Life is Still Slow and Tranquil” by Ivo (Little Elephant) of the blog “Traveling 2 Thailand” at 44 points.

* “Off the beaten track in Kanchanaburi, Thailand” by Jenny Littlewood (Little Wandering Wren) of the blog “Little Wandering Wren” at 44 points.

The three runners-up are:

* “Ayutthaya: Ancient City of Thailand” by Ann Actub of the blog “It’s Beyond Imaginations” at 43 points.

* “The Village of Mae Kampong” by Steven Drews of the blog (social media profile) “Amazing Chiang Mai” at 43 points.

* “Time to Explore Rayong” by Saili Ajgaonkar of the blog “Dreamy Explorer” at 42 points.

As there were no winners in the popular vote category, with none of the entrants receiving 5,000 votes, the winners were selected based on the following criteria: meeting the blogger’s social profile and completing the entry requirements (total 20 points) judged by the TAT Newsroom Team, and the entry depicting a positive image of Thailand and being beneficial to Thai tourism (total 30 points) judged by the TAT International PR Division.

The winners mentioned above must verify their identity within seven (7) days of the release date of this announcement (30 June 2019) by submitting proof of participation (the social media post sent to the public) and a copy of their passport to email: MailToUs@tatnews.org from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Thai time).

Non-compliance to the one-week time frame or being unable to travel during the proposed period of the prize winner’s trip will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate runner-up being invited.

The six winners of the second TAT Newsroom “Blogger Thailand” competition will enjoy an exclusive four-day trip reflecting Thailand’s ‘Open to the New Shades’ campaign, scheduled for 25-28 July, 2019, to Prachin Buri, Nakhon Nayok and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces as well as Khao Yai National Park, which borders all three of these provinces.
