Bangkok – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently organised a promotional activity under its ‘Thainess through Celebs’ project in Toronto, Canada starring Thailand golf ambassadors Ariya Jutanukan (Pro May), who is in the top ten world golf ranking, and Moriya Jutanugarn (Pro Mo) who both play in the professional LPGA tournament.
They joined forces with TAT to promote its ‘Exclusive Media Event Golfing and More Wellness Lifestyle Experiences in Amazing Thailand” held on 20 August, 2019, at The St. Regis Toronto, Canada.
The event was chaired by Ms. Runjuan Tongrut, TAT Executive Director of the Americas Region, and attended by 23 executives and representatives from golf tour operators plus sports, wellness, and lifestyle media companies.
Ms. Runjuan said, “The event helped raise awareness on golf, health and wellness activities in Thailand. It featured demonstrations on Thai massage and healthy Thai cuisine, including Southern Thai-style rice salad cooked by the two golf ambassadors, plus updated information on golf and wellness that fits the Canadian lifestyle and encourages all Canadians to visit Thailand.”
Ms. Anita Lyann Draycott, a Canadian journalist who just returned from Thailand, also shared her experiences from the recent Thailand Golf Travel Mart (TGTM) 2019 and her travels around Thailand. The event concluded with a lucky draw offering spa treatments from Thai hotels as well as giveaways from the two golf ambassadors.
Thailand is considered Southeast Asia’s best golf destination with over 300 international quality courses, many designed by world-famous architects including Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones II, Greg Norman and Pete Dye to name a few.
Golfers are invited to enjoy a variety of scenic landscapes ranging from the misty mountains in Northern Thailand to the vibrant turquoise waters and palm trees in the Southern region.
Off the links, there is also plenty of non-golfing activities that travellers can experience within close proximity to golf courses. These include, but are not limited to, temples, beaches, soft adventure activities, and spa experiences that offer rejuvenating Thai massage, meditation, and yoga.
The event also highlighted how to prepare Thai cuisine using fresh organic ingredients and invigorating farm-to-table cooking experiences. These allow travellers to enjoy Thailand’s authentic flavours and prepare timeless recipes that can then be replicated at home.
